Funding you can actually get

Most funding lists rank prestige. This one ranks odds: capital-rich, attention-poor sources where a founder with no network is structurally better off than in YC’s ~1% pool. Scored 0–30 on six signals — open front door, deployment pressure, deal velocity, niche fit, geographic arbitrage, non-cash value. ✓ = verified against a primary source; everything else is a strong lead to confirm yourself before relying on it.

Tier 1 — apply now (score 24+)

Odds structurally in your favour. Note two of six cost no equity at all.

Tier 2 — strong candidates (18–23)

Worth a tailored application — especially where you exactly match a narrow mandate (student, immigrant, women-founder, deeptech, region).

Tier 3 — later stage or conditional

Saudi NTDP Relocate

Up to $1.4M non-dilutive — but requires Series A+ and relocation to KSA. Verified precedent: Kneron took $2M non-equity.

Dubai Future District Fund

$1.65B committed, $250K–$7M cheques; operates as an institutional LP, so founders never find it.

Wa’ed Ventures (Aramco)

$500M+, $270M deployed to 75+ startups; overlooked because “Aramco” reads as oil, not venture.

IvyCap Ventures

~$650M AUM with an open pitch form and a low media profile for its size.

The best non-obvious move: SIDBI Fund of Funds 2.0

India notified a ₹10,000 croreFund of Funds (in force April 2026). It doesn’t invest in startups — it capitalises AIF fund managers across deeptech, micro-VC, manufacturing and sector-agnostic segments, who must then deploy into DPIIT-recognised startups (micro-VC segment: cheques up to ₹10 Cr). The arbitrage: these managers just received government capital and are under pressure to deploy, but have near-zero brand recognition — so they get a fraction of the inbound a Blume or Accel gets. Pull the portfolio-fund list from sidbivcf.in and pitch the managers directly. Almost no founder does this.

Traps — do not spend applications here

Backstage CapitalPaused new investments since 2022 — live website, dead fund.
AngelPad · Antler · 500 Global · Alchemist · NeoAs selective as YC (~1–3% acceptance). Low profile does not mean easy odds.
100X.VC10,000+ applicants a year for ~35–40 slots. Not under-the-radar.
Susa · Contrary · Compound · MaC VCRelationship-driven in practice, despite open-looking websites.
L&T Innovation Fund · Bharti Airtel Accelerator · Unilever Foundry IndiaNo confirmed 2025–26 deals or no real investment vehicle found.

Universal red flags: anyone charging you to pitch, taking equity for “mentorship” alone, or with no investment in the last 18 months.

The order to work them

  1. Non-dilutive first — NSF SBIR and Indian state grants cost you nothing but time and zero equity.
  2. High-volume open doors — Right Side, Hustle Fund, Precursor: fast decisions, no network needed.
  3. Niche-fit funds — only where you exactly match the mandate.
  4. Gulf programs— if you’d genuinely relocate. Hub71’s next deadline: 2 Aug 2026.
  5. In parallel — work the SIDBI FoF 2.0 manager list. Highest effort-to-competition ratio available.
